I don't often read books based on recommendation it's usually books I've heard a lot of good things or hype about. I would say both Angelfall and Divergent because of the hype and I am glad I did despite how the Divergent books taper off. I don't either. Most of the books recommended to me are fairly popular. Though there is nothing wrong with that, I'd like to expand my reading horizons beyond mainstream works.
I am always looking for recommendations from others. For me, that is the way I find most of the best books I read.https://readerbuzz.blogspot.com/2016/10/ten-books-ive-read-because-of-another.html
I used to be very particular about recommendations. I have a complete list of requests on goodreads that are completely dedicated to finding books similar to a specific thing.
I still need to read Sea of Shadows and The Darkest Minds. I love getting a book rec and then LOVING the book. :)My Top Ten
Speaking of recommendations, I highly recommend reading those books. I still have yet to get the last book in the Sea of Shadows trilogy. I have; however, read all of the books in the Darkest Minds trilogy. Though I was left a little disappointed, I still at least recommended reading the first book.
Divergent was a recommendation for me too, and so is Riordan. and I want to read Maze Runner after seeing the movie.
Honestly, after reading the book and seeing the movie, I prefer the Maze Runner movie over the book, especally for Scorch Trials. I read Divergent for a book club. However, I prefer the book over the movie. I wasn't a huge fan with the rest of the series. I had many problems with the characters, which ultimately lead to my hatred for the series. But there are many people out there who would disagree, my sister included. It just depends.
I have Rebel Belle and I do want to read Rick Riordan's books (someday). After seeing the film with a group of coworkers, I might go back and read Miss Peregrine's. I was interested in the storyline.
There were many things wrong with the Miss Peregrine's film and when you read the book you'll be able to point it all out. That being said, I did enjoy the movie and some of the changes. But most importantly, I just wanted to see it because of Asa.
I read Maze Runner on recommendation too!
It seems like books that are made/ being made into movies are quite popular recommendations. :)
Whenever friends and family find out I'm a librarian they inevitably ask me for book recommendations - no pressure or anything! ;)
Its almost like asking 'what's your favorite book?'.
I really need to try Reboot and Rebel Belle. Check out my TTT.
Too many books, too little time. :)

I read Miss Peregrine's on recommendation, too! My sister tried to get me to read Maze Runner but I just couldn't get into it.Here's my TTT
I completely understand, it took me a few tries to get into the Maze Runner.
