Books I Really Love But Feel Like I Haven't Talked About Enough|Top Ten Tuesday

Hosted by the lovelies over at The Broke and the Bookish! I love their amazing ideas and seeing how many people participate each week!

Today's Top Ten is:

Essentially, this post is me fangirling and attempting to form my 'asjdkhfljasdfa;kajkakl's into coherent sentences.

Where does one even begin with this book! My heart is still piecing itself together after the second book. It's too soon.

Format! Format! Format! Illuminae takes storytelling in a whole new direction! I wasn't sure how one could make a comprehensible story through documents and files. Plus, the size of the book was really intimidating. But you just have to dive in and before your know it, you're swimming!

The world building is incredible! The differences in character personalities is superb and refreshing.

Humorous characters with brilliant socialization skills. Mysterious monsters with the thirst to maim and kill. And endless fun to keep you entertained for at least two hours. I wish this book wasn't as short as it is! I NEED more! Being a strong fan of Doctor Who and Sherlock, this book spoke to me on many levels.

Flawlessly flawed characters! An underappreciated debut from a very popular author! I wish this was a series, although I have enough series to read as it is. Definitely planning on re-reading this soon!

I'm a huge fan of retellings! They're all over the place! I love the different takes on the story and how each author personalizes it. This Monstrous Thing is, by far, one of my favorite retellings. Plus, I'm a huge sucker for anything gothic and steampunk!

I wasn't sure about this book when I first received it. Though some of the writing was vague, I did thoroughly enjoy this book. It was twisted and thrilling.

Thrilling mystery! The moment my hands touched this book, I could not put it down! You will not be disappointed! The Darkest Corners hits the shelves April 19th, 2016.

Deceit. I love how Panitch effortlessly weaves between the truth and anything but. Essentially you're left in the dark, pondering yours few suspicious until BAM! The mother of all plot twists blows your mind! The psychological aspect was fantastic, especially in a young adult book.

Full of action, brave and courageous characters, and a dash of romance! I love the concept of Reboot. The idea of gaining strength and courage just minutes after your death is unique and genius!

How about you? What book are you forcing encouraging your friends to read?

  2. Your commentary about Illuminae makes me want to read it now. Perhaps because I watched Erin Brockovich not long ago, either. :)

  3. Illuminae is so good! It took me a while to get into it, but once that I did, I love it! I'm really excited for Germina now! This Monstrous Thing is also an amazing book, but I feel like more people should read it. I love steampunk books and it was such a good idea to combine it to a Frankenstein retelling. Lastly, Jackaby is a great but underrated book. There is still the last book in this trilogy to read, since it hasn't come out yet. The cover for the last one is gorgeous, because purple! I really hope to have more answers about Jenny! :)
